Homework

At Queen Emma's Primary school, we appreciate that parental involvement in learning is vital. By supporting your child in tasks related to the learning in class, pupils are more likely to remember their learning and make links between English, maths and project work.

At the beginning of each project, pupils are given a grid which contains choices of homework tasks linked to the topic.

These are intended to be family based projects and have no specific deadlines, therefore giving all families the opportunity to access the tasks.

Class teachers also set Diagnostic Maths Quizes for pupils to complete.

Parents can also install the 'Eedi' app (on any platform) which will inform them when new diagnostic questions have been set.

Parents can also support pupils in developing their reading by sharing books with their children and listening to children read their 'Read, Write, Inc' reading books (in KS1). In addition, parents can support pupils by supporting 'Big Talk' homework - discussing with pupils what they might write about before a 'Big Write' lesson in school.

Please check the homework timetable to see when to expect homework set by the class teacher.
