Autumn 1 Express: Fresh Food, Good Food:

To demonstrate their knowledge of fresh, healthy food, LKS2 invited their parents in to make fruit salad with them. The children suggested healthy ingredients, such as oranges, bananas and apples, as well as considering foods which are kept fresh in alternative ways, such as tinned pineapple. The children and their parents really enjoyed using these fresh ingredients to make a healthy treat to take home!

 

Autumn 2 Express: Contrast and Complement:

To showcase their artwork, the children put on an art gallery and invited parents to view their paintings. The children used contrasting and complementary colours, as well as different shape templates, to create eye-catching art.

 

Spring 1 Express: Yoga:

We invited our parents to do yoga with us. All of us got to teach a pose to the parents. We had to think of a way the move could be done by the parents who needed to sit on a chair. Then, we did a competition to see who could do the poses faster, adults or children.

 

Spring 2 Express: Misty Mountain, Winding River:

For our express event, we did a play called Misty Mountain, Winding River Extravaganza! We had to write lines about our learning from Misty Mountain, Winding River and there were two hosts who had funny lines and said what was coming up next.
