Mental Health and Wellbeing
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Team are; Mrs Amanda Cox and Miss Leanne Dixon.
Our vision is to support each child’s holistic wellbeing by:
- Raising awareness of mental health and emotional wellbeing as an open and positive topic
- Promoting positive physical and emotional development and the link between them.
- Recognising and addressing concerns as they arise.
- Supporting children and their families in implementing effective coping strategies.
- Supporting our children in developing the 5 Ways to Wellbeing
The 5 Ways to Wellbeing are:
- Connect with other people.
- Be physically active
- Learn new skills.
- Give to others.
- Pay attention to the present moment (mindfulness)
We aim to achieve this through:
- Education for staff, families and the children through assemblies, PSHCE lessons, workshops and effective links to Mental Health support groups and charities
- Effective communication across the school community
- Having an allocated Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Team
- Introducing coping mechanisms through Mental Health events, assemblies and class activities, as well as 1-1/group support sessions
How to contact our Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Team:
Please contact the school office for further information or to make an appointment to discuss your child.
