Kilimanjaro
Spring Term (Term 3 & 4)
Misty Mountain, Winding River
This project teaches children about the characteristics and features of rivers and mountain ranges around the world, including a detailed exploration of the ecosystems and processes that shape them and the land around them. The children will explore mountains and rivers from both the UK and the wider world, learning fun facts about them in terms of natural geography and human geography, such as tourism and mountaineering.

States of Matter: This project teaches children about solids, liquids and gases and their characteristic properties. They observe how materials change state as they are heated and cooled, and learn key terminology associated with these processes. |

Christianity: Creation - What do Christians learn from the creation story? Christianity: Salvation - Why do Christians call the day Jesus died Good Friday? |

Music |
Singing: Learning to sing in a round, parody song-lyrics, and sing in simple harmony. |
| Art & Design |
Animal: This project teaches children about the historical and cultural portrayal of animals in art. They study the visual qualities of animals through sketching, printmaking and clay modelling. Vista: This project teaches children about the techniques that artists use when composing landscape images, such as colour and atmosphere. |

D&T |
Functional and Fancy Fabrics: This project teaches children about home furnishings and the significant designer William Morris. They learn techniques for decorating fabric, including block printing, hemming and embroidery and use them to design and make a fabric sample. |
PE Days
Monday - Outdoor - Tag Rugby
Tuesday - Swimming
Please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit on these days.
Invasion Memorable Experience:
In spite of some torrential downpours, Kilimanjaro had a marvellous time on their memorable experience to the Minster Ruins. The children discussed what they think life there might have been like in the past and why the ruins look the way they do now.
