Olympus Express 2025-2026
In Olympus Class, our Express Events are a special opportunity for children to proudly share their learning with their families. These sessions take place at the end of each learning project and are designed to celebrate the children’s achievements, creativity and progress during their first year at school.
Each event looks a little different: sometimes families are invited to join in with hands-on activities such as baking, art or model-making, and other times they might enjoy performances, classroom tours or interactive learning experiences. Whatever the theme, our Express Events always put the children at the centre, allowing them to take the lead in showing what they have learned and achieved.
Family engagement is an important part of our Early Years approach. By inviting parents and carers into the classroom, we strengthen the partnership between home and school, helping families to see how learning happens through play, exploration and imagination. These shared experiences help build children’s confidence, communication skills and pride in their work, while also creating lasting memories for families to treasure.
Autumn 1 Express
Autumn Express
Olympus Class had a wonderful express event this term. The children were so excited to welcome their families into school and share everything they’ve been learning during their very first term in Reception.
Pupil voice:
'I loved showing mummy where my phonics is and my pictures about hedgehogs and leaves.'
'Me and mummy got the seeds out the pumpkin and they were slimy.'
Parent / grandparent voice:
'This is my first experience of school with S being my eldest and it has been so lovely to see where she is learning, look at the floor books and meet her friends. Thank you for the lovely activities.'
'How lovely that grandparents can come too - they loved the snack area and how wonderful to hear them singing their songs. They were so excited!'

Families enjoyed a guided tour of the classroom, led proudly by the children, showcasing a range of activities that reflected their learning and creativity. The afternoon included a delightful performance of nursery rhymes, hands-on junk modelling, sensory pumpkin explorations and opportunities for imaginative mark making.

It was fantastic to see the children’s confidence, curiosity and joy in learning shine through as they shared their achievements with their families.
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us, your support made the afternoon truly special!
