Forest School 2025-2026
Olympus
Olympus class have settled into their Forest School sessions since starting school in September. They are independent with their waterproofs and boots and are excited to see what art and craft activity is available each week.
The children have developed resilience facing challenges eg when using the rope swing, balancing on logs and accessing the resources in the mud kitchen. Minibeast hunts and spotter sheets have been a favourite activity and hot chocolate and biscuits sitting on the log circle is a welcome energy boost with all the busy activities in the forest.

Pupil voice:
K: I have got really brave climbing the tree and only need a bit of help from e jumping at the end bit!
R: I love the mud kitchen and I like the messy mixing.
T: my best bit is finding the cuddlies and I like hedgehog and squirrel best.
Year 1
In Forest School, Year 1 have had a magical time creating sparkly wands and casting all sorts of playful spells on each other. The children also enjoyed making signs, books, and jewellery for their families using junk paper and other natural materials.
Over in the mud kitchen, there were plenty of muddy masterpieces as the children cooked up pretend soups and cakes, mixing leaves, twigs, and a good dash of imagination! Of course, there was also time for climbing trees, swinging, and exploring the woodland.

Pupil Voice
My wand is sparkly — Maxine
I made a pie with worms in! - Amira
I turned Mrs Godfrey into a frog — Iris
I saw bears – Riley

Everest
Every Friday, Everest Class heads outdoors to explore, discover, and learn through nature! Our Forest Time sessions give the children the chance to develop teamwork, communication, and independence while enjoying the great outdoors. Whether it’s building dens, digging in the mud kitchen, creating natural art, or sharing hot chocolate around the fire circle, everyone gets the opportunity to connect with nature in a calm, hands-on environment. Forest Time encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and resilience — and most importantly, it’s lots of fun!

Pupil Voice:
“I love Forest Time because we get to play in the mud kitchen and make things with our friends!” Freddie
“It makes me feel calm and happy when we’re outside. I like finding sticks and building dens.” Stephen
