Key Stage One 2025-2026
Family involvement plays a key role in our Key Stage 1 community. We regularly invite parents and carers to join us for Express Events. These are special occasions where children share their learning through performances, exhibitions and interactive activities.
These events strengthen the vital partnership between home and school, celebrate the children’s progress, and help families see the joy and creativity that underpin our approach to learning.
Autumn 1 Express: Harvest
KS1 had an amazing Harvest Express Event this afternoon! The children were so proud to share their fantastic artwork and perform a wonderful selection of harvest songs for their families. Their singing filled the hall with joy and perfectly captured the spirit of gratitude and community that Harvest time brings.

It was lovely to see how much effort and enthusiasm the children had put into their performances and creative work throughout the term. A huge thank you to all our families for coming along to celebrate with us and for your incredibly generous donations. Your kindness and support are greatly appreciated!

The harvest festival performance was lovely. The children were good at saying their lines, and they sand beautifully. It is really nice to come into school and see what the children have been learning. - Mrs Langford-Evans
Autumn 2 Express: Nativity
Nativity
KS1 children were delighted to welcome families to watch their nativity performance, retelling the Christmas Story. This term, the children have been learning all about the Nativity and thinking carefully about what special gifts they might give Baby Jesus if he were born in Witney today.
The performance helped bring their learning to life and gave the children a lovely opportunity to share the story in their own words. We are very proud of all their hard work and confidence on stage!

Amira - I loved singing!
Summer 1: Flower Head
KS1’s Summer Express event beautifully brought together learning from two of this term’s projects: Flower Head in Art and Plant Survival in Science.
Through Flower Head, the children explored the work of artist Yayoi Kusama, learning about her bold, colourful artwork, repeated patterns and love of nature-inspired creations.
In Plant Survival, the children developed their scientific understanding of what plants need to survive and stay healthy, learning about how plants grow, the conditions they need to thrive, and the important role of water, light and suitable temperatures.

The children showcased their learning through stunning observational flower drawings, carefully labelling the different parts of a plant.
Pupil Voice
“Flowers are beautiful.” – Marc
“Flowers need sunlight, the right temperature and water to grow.” – Ruby

Parent Voice:
