Positive Noticing Day 2025-2026
The first Wednesday of every term is Positive Noticing Day. This is a special day dedicated to recognising and celebrating the good we see in one another. Throughout the day, children and adults take time to notice and highlight positive behaviours - whether it’s great learning habits, acts of kindness, generosity, or simply being a supportive friend.
Pupils write thoughtful notes to each other, sharing what they’ve seen and appreciated. The atmosphere around school is always full of smiles, encouragement, and gratitude. This is a truly wonderful way to begin each term with positivity and connection.

Pupil Voice
Mia Rose: I like writing stuff for people to make them feel happy. When I get some, I feel happy.
Fearne: I loved seeing other people helping each other out.
Max: I loved that we get to tell people what they’ve being doing good. It makes me happy to make others happy
Spring Term
For our Spring Positive Noticing Day, we wanted to connect our celebration to our school values of Being, Belonging and Becoming. As a school community, we thought carefully about who demonstrates these values and how they show them in their everyday actions.

Throughout the day, staff and pupils recognised those who embody these values by sharing examples of kindness, resilience and teamwork. At break and lunchtime, the playground was filled with positivity as we shared “positive shout-outs” over the microphone, celebrating members of our community who make our school a special place to be.

Pupils also helped to transform the playground by decorating it with positive affirmations written in chalk, creating colourful messages of encouragement and appreciation for everyone to enjoy.

It was a joyful day that reminded us how powerful it is to notice the good in others and celebrate the ways we all contribute to our community.
Spring Term: KS1
KS1 had a lovely time celebrating Positive Noticing Day. We focused on our school values of Being, Becoming and Belonging. At lunchtime, children enjoyed using the microphone to share kind words about their friends, and throughout the day we gave out Positive Noticing Cards to celebrate all the wonderful things we see in each other.
