REMOTE LEARNING

SATCHEL ONE

This platform is where you and your child will find all of the lessons created and set by their class teachers. Every day there will be a Maths, Reading, Writing and Project lesson. Most lessons will be pre-recorded with some using Oak National Academy. If you have any issues logging on or using Satchel One please contact the school office (01993 704770 or office.2304@queen-emmas.oxon.sch.uk).

THIRD SPACE LEARNING

If your child has a tutor session weekly, this will still happen at home. You will have received an email with all of the information on this. If you are unsure if this applies for your child please contact the school office. There is also a 'Mission Zero' Maths practise which all children can access on the website.

ONLINE/DEVICE ISSUES

If you cannot access the above websites due to internet or device issues please contact the school office and we can arrange for work packs to be sent home to support remote learning.

TERM 4 PROJECT - Frozen Kingdoms

In the Frozen Kingdoms project, your child will learn about the regions of the Arctic and Antarctic. They will learn about the similarities and differences between these two regions, including the climate, landscape and natural resources. They will learn how to use grid references, lines of latitude and longitude, contour lines and symbols to identify the geographical locations of the Arctic and Antarctic, and how these, along with the tilt of the Earth, affect day length and warmth. They will investigate polar oceans to learn how they differ from other oceans on Earth and how climate change increases Earth's temperature and leads to rising sea levels. They will learn about the indigenous people of the Arctic, including how their lives have changed over time, and about the positives and negatives of tourism in Antarctica. They will also learn about classifying animals, animal adaptations and evolution, and polar exploration and discovery.

Homework- Project

For our project the children should be completing one challenge from the homework learning choice board every week. This can either be brought into school or uploaded onto Satchel One. We will be sharing homework in class most days. We love seeing how hard you are working at home. Photos of home learning will be added below. There is also a Home Learning Workbook for this project. This can be completed over the term and shared with the class when you complete each activity.

Diagnostic Questions

You should already have your log in details to access www.diagnosticquestions.com. If you need your log in information, please ask your Maths teacher.

This website is accessed by all devices. There is an app you can download too. Questions will be set each week to consolidate the children’s learning.

Times Table Rockstars/Numbots

Children should have their own individual log on to access TTRS/Numbots. This should be done either daily or for at least 20 minutes per week to consolidate the children's times table knowledge.    https://play.ttrockstars.com
