Sports Enrichment

At Queen Emma's we offer our children the opportunity to take part in a range of sporting activities to build on their weekly PE curriculum as well as enrich their experiences through seeking out external agencies and specialists who can deliver alternative sporting activities.

Archery - Wallingford Castle Archers deliver archery lessons to our Year 5 and 6 children in Term 5 and 6. The children's first session is focused around safety and the theme of the importance of safety continues through out each session. Our children learn the basic techniques of archery such as bow hand position & body position, arrow anatomy, reference points & aiming, bow anatomy as well as score and competition.

Excel Tennis Academy - provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds a chance to get involved and learn to play tennis with high quality and accessible tennis lessons.

Chance to shine - inspire and enthuse the children about the sport of cricket. At the heart of cricket are the values of fair play, teamwork and respect. Cricket is an inclusive sport where boys and girls play and develop together. Sessions are specifically designed for the different ages and abilities of the children and make sure that, whether it’s the very first time a child has picked up a bat and a ball or if they play regularly at their local club, everyone learns and improves during the lesson.
