Sewing Club

A piece written by Mark, our student from Year 5.

Firstly, we were introduced to the club and informed about our project to make an owl. We were provided the equipment we would require like pins, scissors, thread etc. We were told on how we could use the equipment safely. Then, we were given the opportunity to pick any fabrics we admired for the project (owl).

Secondly, we cut the fabrics out and we were given some papers to help us and show us how we cut them accurately. After a few weeks, we had finished sewing the parts (wings, eyes, back) on the fabric. We then attached the fabric which we iused as the back and then we finihsed off by sewing on a machine.

The next week, we were provided sewing machines to help attach the fabrics firmly which assisted us. Then we stuffed the fabrics to give it a realistic shape and then we sew the bottom of the owl firmly and then they were perfect and glistening.
