Welcome to Queen Emma's Primary School. We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.
From 1st September 2014, the school adopted its new school name, Queen Emma's Primary School (previously Queen's Dyke Primary). All of the school community have been involved in changing the name, so that it still holds some of its historical links to the past.
In 1044 Queen Emma granted the Bishop of Winchester an estate in Witney, which is confirmed in the Domesday Book. A palace was built next to the parish church, whose foundations were excavated in 1984. Queen Emma's Dyke, (a street in Witney, and adopted as the school's previous name) probably relates in some way to this granting of the estate by Queen Emma.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
