Local Governing Committee

The Governing Committee  is a committee of the Mill Trust and has responsibilities delegated to it through the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation.

The Governing Committee has a mainly strategic role in the running of the school.  It has the following core strategic functions:

  • Setting the school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils

All our governors are expected to operate in line with a code of conduct which includes the seven principles of public life. A copy of the Code of Conduct can be found below.

The governors regularly undertake a skills audit as part of their governance review to assess the skills, knowledge and experience of the Governing Committee to ensure their roles and responsibilities are fulfilled as efficiently and effectively as possible.

The full Governing Committee meets at least four times a year in October, December, March and June.
